ABOUT
Hi,
I’m Nastaran
a UI/UX Designer with an Architectural Background

ABOUT
I began my career as an architect and spent 10 years designing healthcare and cultural spaces. Those years trained my eye for precision and taught me how every line, proportion and detail shapes the way people experience a space. That sensitivity to structure and detail naturally evolved into a passion for digital design.
For the past five years, I’ve focused on UI/UX and experience design, where I combine analytical thinking with visual storytelling to create clear, intuitive and human centered interfaces. My architectural background still guides the way I design through balance, rhythm and the small nuances that make a big difference.
I’m known for my sharp visual memory and strong attention to detail, traits that once helped me notice misaligned walls and now help me spot misaligned pixels.
Outside of design, I’m passionate about photography and travel. I’m always observing how people move through spaces, physical or digital, and that curiosity keeps my work grounded, empathetic and full of real stories.

PROJECTS
My Journey
2022 – Present, Tehran · Istanbul · Toronto
Freelance UI/UX Designer
As a freelance designer, I’ve collaborated with brands and businesses across Tehran, Istanbul, and now Toronto, creating thoughtful, visually cohesive, and intuitive digital experiences.
Throughout this journey, I also completed the UI/UX Design program at INVERSE School, which strengthened my approach to user research, interaction design, and digital product strategy.
My architectural background continues to shape the way I design—structured, balanced, and emotionally engaging.
Canadian Freelance Experience
Since moving to Toronto, I’ve also been collaborating with Canadian businesses on digital design projects.
This includes ongoing UI/UX work with ITANIZ Boutique Marketing Agency (Vancouver), as well as Website design, social media design and content creation for a Toronto-based automotive group.
These collaborations have allowed me to expand my experience in the Canadian market and work closely with teams across different industries.
2020 – 2022, Tehran
Design Director | Ui/Ux Designer — Future City Innovation Lab
This was a transformative period in my career. Leading digital design initiatives and managing a multidisciplinary team introduced me to user experience and product design, and completely changed my creative path.
2019, Tehran
Transitioning into Digital Design
Over time, I realized that my passion wasn’t limited to physical spaces. It was about how people experience design, whether in architecture, branding or digital products.
That realization led me toward the world of UI/UX, where structure meets emotion in a digital form.
2015 – 2019, Tehran
Architect & Interior Designer — Kasra Construction Co.
Alongside my role at Liman, I collaborated with Kasra Construction as an architect and interior designer on residential and commercial developments. My focus was on integrating architectural structure with refined interior details, balancing aesthetic harmony with functionality and technical execution.
2014 – 2015, Tehran
Interior Designer — Chaharbagh-e-Irani Studio
At Chaharbagh Studio, I worked on boutique interior design projects inspired by Persian artistry and contemporary design principles. This experience allowed me to explore the emotional and sensory aspects of space through texture, light, and form.
2010 – 2019, Tehran
Architect & Board Member — Liman Consulting Architects & Engineers
I began my career at Liman Consulting as a junior architect and gradually advanced to senior architect and board member.
During this decade, I worked on numerous healthcare and cultural projects and gained experience in both large scale and conceptual design. Some of the most notable works were Qom Hospital, developed in collaboration with MOSER Architects, and the award winning Tabriz Hospital competition, designed together with AIA Associés.
I also contributed to several amphitheater and cultural center projects that focused on human interaction, public flow and spatial storytelling.
These years at Liman were truly formative. They taught me how to merge creativity with technical precision and how design can deeply affect people’s everyday experiences.
This architectural foundation later became the cornerstone of my approach to user centered design in the digital world.
